Conclusion
f8
Again,
both prime lenses generally superior.
The
zooms do well reflecting the easing of the lens design constraints at the longer
focal length, however, the primes are 100% satisfactory over the whole image, and in
the case of the primes superior overall for contrast and most of the frame for
detail.
The
24-70mm and 70-200mm f/4L (and IS version) can almost provide superior performance over the whole
1.6X crop factor frame.
Max Ap
The 100mm f2.8 macro and the 70-200mm zoom
have very similar contrast performance with the 100mm only slightly better. The
85mm is also as good as these out as far as 17mm offset from the optical axis.
This is very impressive for the faster 85mm lens.
Maximum aperture detail performance is very
close between the lenses, again this is impressive for the faster 85mm.
The Bokeh again is very comparable with the
faster 85mm only loosing out beyond 16mm offset from the optical axis.
